You don’t go out to look for people. They come to you.
I AM SO HIGH NOW. MY WHOLE BODY IS FILLED OUT WITH EXCITEMENT AND MY FINGERS ARE DANCING ON THE KEYBOARD AS I TALK NOW.
I GOT MY FIRST CLIENT.
I GOT MY FIRST CLIENT.
I GOT MY FIRST CLIENT.
I just returned from Sarasota yesterday and tried to organize myself when things been crazy the past week. I did the dishes. I cleaned to fridge. I replied the emails. And, I called the curtain guy, Bill, who hasn’t replied my last email about one last piece of shades he missed to install couple weeks ago.
We said hello and talked about the installation sometime this week. AND! Bill spoke up: “Ally, I was thinking about buying some things from you.”
Me: “Buying some things from me?” (Sounds confused, indeed, I was confused.)
Bill: “We just had an aroma therapy SPA experience in Hawaii and my wife found out that experience very soothing and comforting. And I still have the inhaler you gave me last time. My daughter is quite suffering from anxiety because of the school work. So I am wondering if you……”
Me: (Silent….speechless)
Bill: hello…?
Me: Seriously? (Yes I did say “seriously”. In my heart I meant to say YES YES YES ABSOLUTELY)
I was so blown away by the surprise. At the time when I know I’ll start to deal with the incorporation and the sponsorship issue. My mind was buried in those business worries and fear from uncertainty.
(I explained to Bill what I do with the consultation and blending. He is full of fun and willing to make referrals for me.)
I kept thinking: Is that a good idea to start in Chicago? How should my website look like? Can I make a living with just the consultation? Booooom….here comes the answer. I haven’t even started and I have a customer!
Listen to your heart and pray. You don’t go out to find people. They come to you.
